:22:03
No, l mean it. What happened?
:22:10
Well, me and this guy
got in it on a class picnic.
:22:13
He brought a couple of bottles of booze
and he was chargin' double for drinks.
:22:16
And l never liked him anyhow,
so l hung one on him.
:22:19
Thing was, though, l was gonna get
my diploma in a couple of months.
:22:24
So l went to see the principal.
He was one of them soft, smiley kind of guys.
:22:30
He said ''lf you'll sign this paper saying
you brought the booze, that'll be that.''
:22:36
So, like a bonehead, l signed it. Then
he looks at the paper and he kinda smiles.
:22:41
He says ''Well, l'll have to think about it.''
:22:46
So l guess l started swingin'.
:22:49
l forgot he was wearing glasses,
and l put out his eye.
:22:55
So anyhow, the judge says ''You got three
choices: army, navy, reform school.''
:23:01
Well, why did you pick the navy?
:23:03
Well, ain't much water in Utah.
:23:06
Jake. Wasn't there anybody
to stick up for you with the judge?
:23:12
My mother. She didn't count
for very much around there, though.
:23:19
But a good dame.
:23:38
We're mixing our lives together, Maily.
:23:41
We'll never be able to unmix 'em again.
And we'll never want to.
:23:46
l take you for what you are, and all
that you are, and mix you with all of me.
:23:54
And l don't hold back nothing.
:23:58
When you're cold and hungry
and afraid, so am l.
