:50:29
What do you want of us?
:50:41
I have often watched the larks
in the fields round my home.
:50:48
They are such humble,
modest creatures
:50:53
who need only a sip of water
and a few berries
:50:58
in order to live,
and soar into the heavens.
:51:07
One day, I found myself thinking
that we, too, could be happy
:51:13
if we were content with little,
like the larks.
:51:16
If we could live as they live,
singing,
:51:19
and thanking the Lord
who created us.
:51:24
That is why we came to Rome...
:51:27
to ask your advice.
:51:32
Well, what advice
can I possibly give you,
:51:35
my dear young brother?
:51:38
God has given you
a most precious gift...
:51:41
the grace to approach Him
through His beloved creatures.
:51:44
What more can you want?
:51:46
Simple people understand us,
but the others...
:51:51
Perhaps we've made mistakes.
:51:53
This is what we want to know.
:51:55
Is it not possible, Holy Father,
:51:57
to live according
to the teachings of our Lord?
