Dillinger Dillinger is a 1945 gangster film telling the story of John Dillinger. This is the first major film starring Lawrence Tierney (he's credited as "And introducing Lawrence Tierney"). The B-film was shot in black and white and features a smoke-bomb bank robbery edited into the film from the 1937 Fritz Lang film, You Only Live Once. The film was released on DVD by Warner Brothers for the Film Noir Classic Collections 2 in 2005 even though the film is generally regarded as not being film noir. Some of the film is shot at Big Bear Lake, California. Gangster film buffs will notice movie thugs Cook, Ciannelli, and Laurence appearing as part of Dillinger's gang.
