Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice (1813) has been the subject of numerous television and film adaptations. This independent film, made in 2003 and titled Pride and Prejudice: A Latter-Day Comedy, is set in modern-day Provo, Utah, apparently at Brigham Young University. The characters all appear to be Latter-day Saints, though this is never explicitly stated. The film received largely positive reviews outside Mormon enclaves such as Utah; still, some of the humor and plot devices derive from and require an understanding of Mormon social and religious mores.
