Rollerball Rollerball was a 2002 remake of the 1975 science fiction film also titled Rollerball. Unconsciously embodying two themes of the original Rollerball, an updated 'remake' of the film was released, directed by John McTiernan with a much greater concentration on action and more muted social and political overtones. Unlike the first film, it does not take place in an overtly dystopian future.
