House of Bamboo House of Bamboo is a 1955 color film noir shot in CinemaScope. The film was shot on location in Tokyo, Japan. It was directed by Samuel Fuller, who also directed other films noir including The Naked Kiss (1964) and Pickup on South Street (1953). A scene from this movie can be spotted being played on a projection screen in the sci-fi film Minority Report (2002) (the scene shows a man being shot in a Japanese hot-tub). The film is a loose remake of The Street with No Name (1948) using the same screenwriter (Harry Kleiner) and cinematographer (Joseph MacDonald) as in the original.
